We are looking for a Solutions Architect to support one of our clients in the Richmond, VA area. This position is hybrid onsite – would require the candidate to be local enough for 2-3 days onsite a week.

 

Most Important: heavy java experience – spring boot, API/Microservices, Angular for front end, & worked in a cloud environment (preferred AWS)

In this role you will be interpreting business problems and building technology solutions to solve for those problems. This role requires designing IT system architectures that align with the company's target technology strategy and defining business solutions that complement the strategy. The Solutions Architect will provide both technical and team leadership across the IT department. This role requires contributing to complex, cost-effective solutions - both within new development and the enhancement and maintenance of existing applications.

Daily responsibilities to include the following –

• Assess, select and recommend the optimal set of technologies (as part of a solutions architecture) to develop a particular solution
• Create and lead the process of integrating IT systems to achieve business goals and meet organizational requirements
• Evaluate current state system architecture and collaborate with product and IT development teams to transition legacy systems to target state where needed
• Develop, document and articulate enterprise level design patterns that can be reused and extended where needed
• Create reference architectures, prototypes and proof of concepts (POCs) when needed for design clarification and decision making
• Provide leadership and technical guidance in the Developer Community of Practice (CoP), planning, prioritization, and Agile ceremonies 

 

Requirements:

• 5 years' experience in at least two solutions development disciplines - e.g., technical or infrastructure architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or cloud development 
• Experience working with/on cloud-based platforms/applications including involvement in at least two successful, enterprise-wide implementations
• Proven experience with developing and implementing architecture within Agile software development methodology
• Additional experience in any of the following is preferred:
  • Event driven architecture (EDA) and associated design patterns
  • Serverless tools and technologies
  • API and Microservice development
  • Kubernetes and/or EKS
• Technologies: Java (Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate), Angular 6+, Bootstrap, NodeJS, JSON, AWS Technologies (EKS, ECS, Lambda, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, S3, EC2), Python (PyCharm), Azure AD
• Tools: GitLab, Maven, IntelliJ
• Methodologies: CICD practices

 

Pluses:

• AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect
• Combined experience in the following areas
  • Event driven architecture (EDA) and associated design patterns
  • Serverless tools and technologies
  • API and Microservice development
  • Kubernetes and/or EKS
