Location: Stamford, CT – 100% on site

This team is a Credit Risk / Credit Services team. In theory they are just supposed to be data scientists that handle the data but in reality everything for mobile underwriting goes to them so they liaise with other teams to provide an end to end product. They work with a number of PM / BA / QA teams to provide this end to end product. A good understanding of the way a business operates would be a great plus for this. This team is an underwriting team. Spectrum Mobile is one of the biggest focuses in the company at the time. They are trying to do programs where they allow customers to Finance phones through them. However, they must assess the risk of this client before deciding whether or not to give them financing and also how much financing to give them. In order to become a Spectrum Mobile customer you must first be a Spectrum Cable customer, so they will use their cable transaction history along with info from credit bureau to make a real time assessment on the customer's credit risk.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create conceptual frameworks enabling the analysis of varied business problems
Gather business requirements. This individual will need to work with leadership and business partners to identify data and reporting needs for analysis.
- Develop/select methodologies to derive answers to business problems.
- Design and implement tests to determine strategy effectiveness, and analyze the results to develop recommendations on future strategy.
- Use statistical techniques to build various predictive/explanatory models for such initiatives as: acquisition/risk management, customer retention, timeline events, and customer segmentation
- Analyze data to provide meaningful insights. This individual must have strong data manipulation and interpretation skills, and be able to quantitatively assess business problems.
- Professionally present and articulate the business value of complicated analysis to a diverse group of stakeholders
- Create presentations to help illustrate data in ways that are appropriate and easy for stakeholders to understand.
- Clearly communicate analysis and complex concepts to non-subject matter experts orally and in writing.
TOP MUST HAVES:
- 3-5 Years - Analytical experience
- 3-5 Years - Writing queries using SQL language
- Very strong SQL - know how to pull , manipulations, merge, report data in SQL – must pull data from multiple databases, manipulate the data, merge the data and report on it all in SQL
- Experience working with VERY large data sets
NICE TO HAVE:
- Good business acumen
- PM skills
- Predictive data modeling
