This is a Jr-mid level position.
Description :
This individual will manage and maintain applications that are in production. They will be on call on a rotational basis in an effort to reduce the impact of production issues. There will be a need to interact by various stakeholder and users. The selected candidate will possess the following skills:
Responsibilities:
- Owns the overall health, performance, and availability for one or more environments, applications or platforms
- Uses sound technical skills to troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues and bring resolution to these issues in a timely manner
- Provides leadership and oversight for day-to-day issues/opportunities for all support items assigned.
- Addresses critical issues based on service level agreements
- Escalates high risk issues to management as needed
- Identifies and implements continuous improvement ideas
- Work closely with vendors to understand releases/patches
- Monitor applications for vulnerabilities and take appropriate action to mitigate risk of these vulnerabilities.
- Independently develops clean, maintainable, testable code for work assigned
- Performs peer code reviews.
- Provide On-Call production support as part of a rotation
- Documents functions and changes to new or modified modules
- Identifies and develops potential standards and best practices
- Coordinates with Application Owners to prepare modules for production
- Works with vendors, technology and business users to setup and support transmission of data to and from the Cloud computing site, security and performance
- Identifies any concerns around architectural, infrastructure, and security policies and standards impacting large & small projects to PM or manager.
- Must have 3-5 years of production support experience
- Working knowledge of software reliability management; ability to develop and use principles, methodologies and metrics that increase software product performance and reliability
- Excellent written and verbal skills - Proactive communication a must
- Ability to work with internal support teams, software vendor support teams, participate in projects, and work individually to accomplish tasks.
- 3+ years of experience with Java Enterprise Edition, Spring Frameworks
- 3+ years of experience with ETL tools like Abinitio
- 3+ years of experience with SQL
- 3+ years of experience with Shell Scripting
- Experience with Dynatrace or other monitoring tools
- Exposure to financial domain
- Experience with MQ series, Kafka
- Experience with Anti Money Laundering applications
- Experience with troubleshooting sessions including multiple teams
- A willingness to learn new technologies
