Job Description:
· They must have held the account_admin role.
· They must know how to secure data and how to do data masking.
· They must know how to secure and protect sensitive personal data in the warehouse.
· They must have strong experience securing data and user accounts.
· They must know how to do internal and external data shares.
· Performance tuning and cost monitoring is huge.
· If they get asked what a certain button does in snowflake, that pertains to DBA duties, they need to be able to answer.
· Someone coming from a 100 plus users is a plus.
· AWS exposure is a plus.
· They must have excellent communication skills.
General Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or 5-10 years of experience working in the field of IT, specifically as Database Administrator
- 3+ years experience as Snowflake DBA. This should be a complete hands-on experience.
- Develop, build & maintain mission critical centralized data platform using Snowflake
- Diagnose and troubleshoot Snowflake database errors
- Work with multiple internal user groups including analytics and data science
- Implement Snowflake user /query log analysis and alerts
- Demonstrated proficiency of index design, query plan optimization and analysis required
- User security auditing
- Implement/support automation for production deployment in Snowflake
- Actively work with Snowflake support for raising support tickets and triaging outages
- Create Snowflake utilization and capacity plan
- Tune the database to improve Snowflake queries
- Proactively identify, design, and implement process improvements like automating manual processes, optimizing data flow, increase scalability etc.
- Strong knowledge on Snowflake security features including authentication, authorization, encryption, masking, secured views etc.
Responsibilities:
· Designs, develops, tests, deploys and supports systems and applications focusing on industry best-practices with a cloud-first emphasis.
· Architecting and building data pipelines to AURA with machine learning models as part of advanced data solutions
· Experience using Continuous Integration/Continuous Development best practices and technology, such as Jenkins and Liquibase
· Follows security and development standards and best practice and recommends improvements
· Incorporate Test Driven Development automation to support continuous development and maintain high quality delivery at every stage
· Implements timely decisions on complicated technical problems.
· Manages individual tasks and timelines with an ability to work without direct supervision.
· Seeks continuous quality improvements for supported systems
· Mentors and coaches teammates
· Creates documentation and leads team through architecture reviews.
