AWS Network Engineer
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 12+ Months Contract
Location: Remote ( CST TimeZone )
Job Description: The Senior AWS Network Engineer will be a part of a dynamic and fun environment where you will be responsible for designing, provisioning & managing core systems, network, data center & load balancing physical and virtual infrastructure development, QA and production infrastructure. Essential Functions ( Responsibilities ) :
- Identify major areas of systems improvement and drive results, by being able to quickly translate new ideas into solid implementations
- Delivering physical and virtual infrastructure to support the entire client service.
- Maintaining a highly available nationwide network of video delivery and metadata systems.
- Continuing efforts to provide a robust hybrid cloud infrastructure
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering or STEM degree, Master's Degree Preferred
- 8-10 years of experience with Information Technology
- 5+ years of professional enterprise infrastructure engineering experience, building and managing highly available enterprise grade networks.
- Excellent IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in the application of IP protocols as well as network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge and experience with major network infrastructure components; Routers / Switches (Arista & Brocade), Firewalls (Palo Alto), Load Balancers (F5, Brocade), AWS Networking and Wireless (Aruba)
- Knowledge and experience with major internet routing protocols; BGP, and OSPF
- An understanding of both network hardware and packet forwarding architecture.
- Experience with the following networking:
- Compute: VMware, Cisco UCS, and AWS
- Storage: Pure Storage, Isilon, AWS storage platforms
- Network: Arista, F5, Palo Alto, AWS networking components
- Hybrid Connectivity between AWS and on-premises Datacenters.
- Web scale, distributed systems
- 3+ years of professional experience with the following networking technologies:
- VRFs, VLANs, VRRP, LACP, MLAG
- TACACS / Rancid / GIT
- IPSec VPN
- DNS / DHCP
- NAT / SNAT
- IP Multicast
- VPC, Transit Gateway, NAT Gateway, ALB/ELB, Security Groups
- A solid background with high availability, global backbone design and architecture
- Understanding of Hardware Load Balancers
- Self-Starter, motivated and proactive with strong time management skills and ability to juggle multiple efforts
- Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and leadership skills with the ability to quickly build credibility, influence and make recommendations to all levels
- Problem-solving; ability to break complex issues into manageable pieces and function successfully in a high-pressure, quick-turnaround environment
- Demonstrated accountability & execution fulfillment
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
- Change Acceleration – demonstrated use of change acceleration in across new processes and controls
