12+ months contract
Data Warehouse DBA who can work independently to perform daily support activities like deployment, data copy, server maintenance, etc. as well as work on automation projects.
Required experience with SQL Server Replication, SQL AG and automation/PowerShell Script.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
· Provide primary support for critical, complex Non-Prod MS SQL databases (MS SQL 2008 and above)
· Experience with SQL Server's Replication and Always On AG
· Expertise with SQL Server migration and upgrade to higher version
· Experience with PowerShell and automation
· Extensive hands-on experience in Clustered environment
· Knowledge of SQL Server encryption
· Experience in T-SQL scripting and maintenance jobs
· DB Backup/Recovery experience along with experience in DR drills
· Provide support outside of normal office hours only on rare occasions (emergency and infrequent pre-planned occurrences)
· Review and execute medium to low risk changes including DDL, database configuration changes, patching, and upgrades
· Provide problem management and resolution for repeat issues
· Experience with Agile project management methodologies
· Responsible for database design, development and administration of large scale Operational, OLTP and analytical data structures including logical and physical design
· Strong Communication Skills and thorough review and solid handoffs, ensure system supportability prior to production utilization
· Provides detailed project planning and may act as Team lead on large database infrastructure initiatives
· Builds and maintains relationships with IT business application groups and with infrastructure teams
· Leads others to identify, test, and resolve complex database performance issues
· Researches and recommends process improvement solutions
· Develop and maintain vendor relationships; Drive DBMS software vendors to obtain maximum value from software maintenance and support contracts
· Conduct research on new database features and exploit those features in the environment to reduce infrastructure costs
· Review, assign, and monitor ticket request/incident queues to ensure SLA's are met
· Function as an individual contributor in the management, coordination, and execution of a variety of projects and tasks ranging from low to high degrees of complexity
· Ensure that audit and compliance processes are defined and executed.
· Provide trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management
· Implement and analyze Key Performance Metrics and make recommendations
