Position Title: Senior Microsoft SQL Server DBA Location: Oaks, PA
Job Description Exp. Required: 9-10 years
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS • Minimum 8+ years of SQL server DBA experience (Microsoft SQL Server 2012, 2014 2016, 2019) with Production Support background • Experience & Knowledge of Windows 2012, 2016 & 2019 is mandatory • Strong experience in following fields (Mandatory) o Database administration experience including production support of the database environments, software product installation and maintenance. o Seamless Upgrades and Migration of DB servers & databases from one version of SQL and Windows to another. o SQL server Always ON is a must o SQL/DB knowledge having a production support mindset with excellent Debugging and code analysis skills. Evaluating TSQL code for performance issues is a critical factor in this role. o Query analysis Tuning and optimization. Strong analytical skills for problem resolution, database and SQL performance tuning and backups o Expertise in SQL server snapshots, Backup and Restore & COW processes o Working with SQL Clustered environments o Ability to recover databases in case of DB corruptions or inconsistencies due to infrastructure or user issues. o SQL server Indexes, views and partitioning techniques Must possess the ability to handle multiple production issues with a capability to work in fast paced DBA support role. Should be able to independently analyze, solve, and fix issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end. Ability to interact with client/offshore counterpart for issue analysis & resolution. Must possess excellent communication skills for team projects and client communication (Mandatory) • Should be team player who needs to work with several other Enterprise production DBA’s, SQL subject matter experts (Mandatory) & Development teams • Should be able to work with Development team very closely (Mandatory) • Experience working in a 24x7 environment and familiar with On Call process (Desired) • Strong Experience in service management ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change and Release) (Desired) • Knowledge on working with VM Ware and DB storage array.
DESIRED SKILLS • Some knowledge of SQL Server replication techniques • Basic knowledge of Service Now tool • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously • Aptitude for Automation using Windows batch and Powershell • Certification in Microsoft SQL Server in DBA field • Certification in ITIL. • Networking knowledge will be a plus.
