Position: Facets Developer/SQL DBA
Location: Durham, NC, USA
Inviting applications for the role of Facets Developer/SQL DBA
Utilizing expert functional/technical area knowledge of and global expertise with relevant systems/applications such as Facets, the incumbent defines, evaluates, and validates requirements, business functional design, and technical design for highly complex and varied business issues within their domain areas with broader enterprise impacts. You are expected to be focused on optimizing the functionalities of Facets application used in Healthcare Industry.
Responsibilities - Quickly understand larger and/or more complex business issues and data challenges of the customer. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level information into details; abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding.
- Utilize expertise in analyzing end to end business and technical flows, including impacts to operations.
- Review, edit, and prioritize business requirements, specifications, processes and recommendations related to proposed solution. Distinguish user requests from the underlying true business need.
- Translate business/functional requirements into system level functional solutions using various techniques that include: interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, screen interface prototypes, demos, and/or business, task, and workflow analysis.
- Coordinate the development of functional design specifications, GUI, and screen interface designs (internal applications), and VUI designs for customer engagements. Include project assumptions, risks/issues, considerations, and dependencies based on the system impacts. Proactively identify the business process and organizational impact of proposed solutions.
Coordinate Technical Recommendations and Traceability - Guide project personnel to identify required system changes, additions, or retirement. Conduct gap analysis for business/functional requirements and current system functionality, with support, review, and input from other Technical staff.
- Collaborate with business analysts, designers, developers, and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs. Provide expertise for dividing the project into multiple phases based on the business priorities, design, schedule, and level of effort.
- Ensure traceability from business/functional requirements through development of the solution, to confirm system functionality and ensure the completed system fulfills the goals of the project as detailed in the specifications.
Qualifications, Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of direct application/systems analysis experience with applicable business system or application, if no degree, 7 years' experience as stated above.
- 5 years + Experience in Healthcare Industry.
- Good understanding for FACETS application (front end and back end)
- Thorough understanding of TriZetto Facets core stack: Architecture, Functionality, Integrations and Facets Application Topology
- Must have proven experience in: Requirements Management, Developing Functional Designs, Software development life cycles (SDLC), Use case business model methodology, Database queries (SQL) and Batch and online processing
- Solid experience with project management.
- Solid experience in Facets Application, Facets Custom Development, Facets Upgrades and cross region refreshes, FXI services, other Facets Services etc.
- Expertise with the .NET framework (C# required; .Net Core 3.1 required)
- Expertise in Facets Core process and Batch process.
- Experience in Facets Claim Processing
- Expertise in developing web services (SOAP/ Rest API)
- Ability to maintain components that interact with databases with a high degree of performance
- Experience developing, enhancing, and maintaining high-performance, highly reliable software applications
- Experience with ETL processes and batch processing with custom jobs
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019
- Experience as a SQL Server DBA
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), including index and query tuning • SQL Server best practices • SQL Server Security • PowerShell experience working with SQL Server
- Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
- Experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
- Experience with Windows server, including Active Directory
- Expertise in writing and debugging complex SQL queries
- Experience using explain plans to optimize SQL performance
- Competence with Source Control and Continuous Integration (preferably Git)
- Experience writing unit and integration tests
- Troubleshooting and debugging of problems local and in production systems
- Knowledge and experience in building scripts to automate repetitive and /or time-consuming tasks
- Experience supporting a dynamic array of IT staff to include Developers, Testers, System administrators and Business staff
- SSIS development and processing
Preferred Skills - Must have proven experience in Microsoft Technologies (.NET Core, Visual Studio, MVC, XML, AJAX)
- Advanced knowledge of T-SQL, writing functions and procedures
- Demonstrated facilitation skills that include workgroup leadership and/or problem resolution across multiple groups.
