Sr. DevOps Engineer - Palo Alto, CA (Locals preferred)

Role: Sr. DevOps Engineer

Location: Palo Alto, CA (Locals preferred)

Duration: 12+ Months

Interview mode: Video Call along with Code challenge

 

Client is looking for Programming background not from Admin background

 

Job Responsibilities:

·         Work with engineers on the design, deployment and continuous improvement of important infrastructure services (i.e. logging, monitoring and alerting)

·         Scoping of work, management of backlog and predictability of project delivery

·         Provide input into long-range platform requirements and operational guidelines, with a focus on automation and continuous improvement of Platform Service

·         Develop and own best practices/methodologies for provisioning, application scaling, configuration management, capacity planning, monitoring, etc. to improve organization-wide visibility into how distributed systems interact and perform in production

·         Secure and govern the infrastructure by implementing strong access policies and rules

·         Own daily operational goals with the team

·         Continuously raise our standard of engineering excellence by implementing best practices for coding, testing, and deployment

·         Assist and mentor the other entry level SRE/Devops engineers

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

·       10+ years of Software / DevOps Engineering experience

·         Cloud infrastructure management (preferably AWS)

·         Automation/configuration management (e.g. Ansible, Salt Stack, Chef)

·         Orchestration tools (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation)

·         Container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)

·         System administration (e.g. RedHat, Debian)

·         Experience in CICD pipeline using GitLab/GitHub and Jenkins (or similar)

·         Metrics acquisition and analysis; regex log searching and anomaly detection (e.g. ELK, Splunk, Grafana)

·         Strong scripting skills using Python, Bash or similar

·         Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience

·         Strong multi-tasking skills and active interest in the DevOps movement
