Location: Chicago, IL/ Remote until covid
Duration : 12+ months
Job Summary:
Strong (5+ years) of Infrastructure Project Management experience within an Enterprise environment and working in unstructured PMO environments)
2. Recent experience with Data Centers moves / migrations & backups - need to be able to get in the weeds technically
3. Ability to be self- sufficient, and drive projects / initiatives in chaotic & ambiguous environments

Strong communication and be able to do fundamental Project Manager responsibilities (project plans, budgeting, forecasting, stakeholder communication & management, risks vs. issues, etc.) Description: Our client is looking for a Project Manager who has previous experience with Data Center migrations / backups or SAN (Storage Area Network) storage replacements in the past and who been in enterprise environments. It is important that they have worked in very unstructured PMOs and can be self-sufficient & operate without hand-holding. The ideal candidate will be a strong well-rounded infra PM that he can bring on who can handle their chaotic environment & who will not need too much hand holding; they need be able to handle projects from inception to end & wear multiple hats. Not only should they be able to get in the weeds technically with the data center work, but need to be able to do traditional PM responsibilities - project plans, budgeting, forecasting, stakeholder communication & management, risks vs. issues, etc. Generic Description
• The Infrastructure PMO delivers from Design to Production: applications, new technologies, and processes, for various work streams globally. They are looking for an individual who has worked on Infrastructure rollouts such as: Network deployments, DC moves, IP phone rollouts, Server migrations, Large application deployments, and new technology implementations. o Act like an owner - Accountable for overall success of infrastructure programs o Experience in all phases of project lifecycle from developing scope through implementation and closure. o This includes working with Architecture to ensure that the design is following Standards. It also means working with the operational teams to ensure that they can run and support the new solution. o Work with various Business work streams to clearly identify infrastructure, application and technical requirements o Maintain ITs strategy and methodology while working with infrastructure SMEs on delivering short term and long-term solutions to Business requirements o The ability to work in a fast paced, end-user focused environment while maintaining a deep level of understanding of the system architecture o Troubleshoot various application and infrastructure issues including Business process related concerns o Track monitor and coordinate resolution of risks and issues impacting project deliverables. o Accountable for budget and tracking costs through the lifecycle of the project. o Responsible for securing funding and cutting PO's to purchase resources, hardware, and other elements. o Escalate and elevate risks to the program when appropriate o Manage cross functional, multinational, multivendor teams for developing and troubleshooting solutions to business requirements. o Must be able to drive vendors and keep work moving. o Assures timely delivery of relevant information to the vendors o Assures transparent cooperation between the vendors o Ensure project framework is documented to support BAU processes and maintained by Vendors • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years implementing Infrastructure projects • Deep and creative problem solving • Background as an Engineer in Voice, Network, Application Development or Hosting prior to taking on a PM roll. • Strong leadership and high sense of accountability • The ability to work in a management capacity and a deep level of understanding of technical infrastructure including Hosting Services, WAN, LAN, Citrix, File Sharing • Strong administration, reporting, financial and organizational skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills
