Experience and Education:
- 10+ years practical and professional experience using WordPress, HTML5, CSS3, JS, and PHP with examples to show ( Must be able to provide a portfolio of past creative work)
- Need 5+ Years of US IT Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
Job Summary:
The Website Developer will design and build campaign websites primarily on the WordPress framework, and work with a greater web applications team by assisting with designing and building interfaces for customer facing applications.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Design and/or translate designs into functional, usable, custom WordPress websites
- Maintain and support existing WordPress websites, expanding on their scope
- Help to establish and guide a new website’s architecture or change existing
- Implementing high performance code and benchmarking existing code to reduce bloat
- Engage with managers, team members, and customers to provide very responsive and prompt support including idea generation, technical analysis, and documentation
- Stay up to date on latest development trends and have a desire to learn more
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Advanced understanding of front-end technologies such as HTM5L, CSS3 (SCSS), and JavaScript or jQuery
- Strong understanding of PHP back-end development with the ability to write functions when the need arises
- Ability to test web pages in multiple browsers and devices with a vast functional understanding of Chrome inspector, Firebug, etc.
- Proficient with the Adobe CC suite; especially Photoshop, Illustrator, XD
- Build and use wireframes to plan user experiences (UX)
- Ability to translate wireframes or a designed user interface (UI) layout into working responsive web pages in WordPress
- Ability to write technical documentation for users, team members, or managers
- Good understanding of versioning tools like GIT or SVN
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
• Knowledge of MySQL / MariaDB / SQL syntax
• Knowledge of AJAX, JSON, API usage, and JS frameworks
• Functional knowledge of Linux and Apache
• Knowledge of Load balancers and replication servers
• Knowledge of web application firewalls (WAF)
• Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) to develop websites
• Knowledge of conversion rate optimization (CRO) to help funnel traffic
• Navigating Google Analytics and running basic reports
• Experience implementing strict WCAG standards and testing with screen readers
• Familiar using a task running such as Grunt/Gulp
• Familiar with Team Foundation Server (Microsoft)
• Familiar with the Microsoft Suite of products (Office, Sharepoint, Teams, etc)
• Knowledge of LDAP and Active Directory
