Role: Senior Ruby-on-Rails developer
Location: NYC,NY ( Remote )
Duration: Long Term
Job Responsibilities
· Maintain responsibility for analysis of Bugs, Problems and Resolution, supply to Continual Service Improvement Programs.
· Perform activities on Ruby on Rails based applications, Integration points, payment systems, knowledge of web services, APIs and Frameworks.
· Understands different programming languages preferably Go language and JavaScript/nodeJS and ability to solve problems in coding, testing and deployment.
· Possesses very good knowledge of different software systems, client/server architectures and various compatibility requirements.
· Ability to communicate effectively with teams and clients
· Understand project requirements, coordinate with resources and direct the projects in the right direction in a timely manner
· Ability to manage change and effectively pass on the information down the line to concerned teams for smoother execution
· Delegate and allocate responsibilities efficiently to manage projects end to end
· Effectively lead teams and inspire others to achieve goals through innovation, quality and excellence
· Encourage team interaction, boost employee motivation and appreciate team contribution
· Ability to match project tasks with opportunities for development so that employee potential is utilized to the maximum
· Support production deployment/Week-end Activities
· 8x5 and on call as needed for urgent issues (Application deployment, outages) availability
· Should have worked in onshore-offshore model
· Partners client to explain the areas of improvement and remediate recommendations
· Effective regular interaction (in person, email and over phone) with business and technical partners locally and globally for status update, requirement discussions, discussion around solution/approach etc.
· Performance management – Expertise in monitoring and analyzing databases performance, pool and identifying root cause and suggest solution that improves DB performance to handle growing transaction volumes
· Shall be able to mentor teams/peers spread globally
Preferred qualifications
· Must have 6+ programming experience in Ruby with frameworks like : Ruby-on-Rails and Ruby-on-Sinatra
· Should have hands-on experience with good understanding of these tech stack -
· Go Language suite, RabbitMQ, GraphQL, Sidekiq, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Elastic Search, Protobuf, ReactJS, REST API
· Basic understanding of AWS, Dockers, Kubernetes and S3
· Knowledge of Quote to Cash/Billing and Payments Domain is plus
· Knowledge of payment gateways, web services, etc.
