Position: Mainframe Developer

Location: 100% Remote

Duration: 6+ months-strong possibility of extension

Client: TDS Telecommunications Corp

Required Skills

COBOL, JCL, SQL, Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, CICS, VB.Net or ASP.Net

 

Job Description:

(4) - Mainframe programmers (COBOL, JCL, SQL, CICS) with knowledge of VB6 and .NET

 

3/1 start date, manager will interview 2/12, manager on vacation days end of Feb and this will move quickly.

·         These individuals will be part of a team but should be able to work on their own to successfully complete their assignments efficiently, accurately, and timely

·         Mainframe programmers would start 3/3/2020;

·         Developers that can work across the legacy applications and python will be given preference 

·         They will work on the Billing & Revenue Management team and be focused on modernizing our in-house, homegrown applications as well as integrating to CRM systems

Detailed Requirements:

 

Specific Responsibilities:

·         Mainframe programmer resources will be creating and enhancing legacy code to accept new markets into our wireline billing system.  In addition, they will be working with newer technology to replace older UI technologies.  The base language will be COBOL, SQL and JCL but may also include changing older technologies such as CICS, VB6 and .NET. 

·         Analysis and design, as needed, for a given solution to be included with the high-level design process or to be leveraged in detailed design. 

 

Qualifications - Technical:

Mainframe Programmer

·         COBOL

·         JCL

·         SQL (Oracle SQL, PL/SQL)

·         Reporting (Focus) – nice to have

·         CICS

·         VB6

·         VB.Net / ASP.Net / Windows / TFS

·         Subversion

·         Oracle 11g

Qualifications Non - Technical:

·         Ability to learn and adapt to a fast-paced changing and challenging environment

·         Good project and time management skills

·         Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

·         Candidates should demonstrate the ability to be self-motivated, self-directed and be able to work under strict timelines
