Position: Java Developer

Location: Memphis, TN

Duration: 6 Months+

Notes:

Strong Java Developers who come from companies with large, complex supply chain management systems (transportation, retail, logistics, etc.)

 

 

Required Skills:

·         Java Development (sr. level or team lead);

·         Background in logistics/transportation (i.e. Nike, FedEx, or somewhere with large/complex supply chains)

 

Basic Qualifications:

·         8-10 years of Java Development experience;

·         Background working on Supply Chain Applications;

 

Responsibilities

·         Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked or Internet-related computer programs

·         Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications

·         Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance

·         Authors, reviews and approves technical designs

·         Mastery of domain programming language

·         Engineers extensible solutions with the team in mind and can fix complex bugs

·         Reviews code to ensure it is functionally correct and consistent with the technical design

·         Accountable for domain dependencies and critical paths

·         Accountable for complex stories and integration or business requirements

·         Accountable for domain dependencies and critical paths

·         Anticipates risks and provides contingency solutions and timelines

·         Defines useful metrics and targets for domain

·         Measurably improves processes and best practices to achieve goals

·         Innovates measurable improvements

·         Stabilizes emerging technologies

·         Achieves team consent and buy-in

·         Interacts with business users, and/or functional peer group and managers

·         Sphere of influence is scrum or project development team

·         Provides guidance for the work performed by contractors and delegates work

·         Participates in development of contractor agreements, including deliverables and SLAs

 

Qualifications

·         8-10 years of Java Development experience

·         Background working on Supply Chain Applications, including Warehouse Management System (Manhattan PkMS a plus), Final Mile, Transportation Management (Manhattan a plus), Rate Shopping tools (Proship, etc.)

·         Experience working with multiple database tools such as DB2, SQL, and Oracle

·         Experience working in both Agile as well as waterfall methodologies

·         Working knowledge of or experience with AS400/RPG programming

·         Familiarity with industry standards around IT change management and development deployments

·         Experience with cross-platform integration between the iSeries and .NET and/or Java applications

·         RPG/400, ILE RPG, Embedded SQL

·         Stored Procedures

·         Aldon/LMi

·         XML

·         Experience with EDI/data transmission a plus

·         Bachelor's Degree in relevant field of work or equivalent work experience
