Citrix Administrator (Senior – Level 3) – Job Description
Location – Mclean, VA
 
 
Citrix Administrator (Senior – Level 3) duties and responsibilities

• Implement and support Citrix XenApp multiple environments, 5/6/7 farms
• XenApp configuration, Xen Desktop, Provisioning Server, some hypervisor and management experience (VMware / Hyper-V)
• Administering Citrix provisioning Services (PVS) 7.x or later versions
• Implement and support Group Policies
• Farm and Servers Reports / Maintenance
• Configure and support NetScaler and Access Gateway solutions to support scalable delivery of applications
• Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports.
• Deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems.
• Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
• Create shell scripts as required.

• Manage enterprise directory services and supporting server infrastructure.
• Engineer, Design, Test and integrate Remote Desktop and application products prior to deployment to production.
• Engineer products in line with all Architectural and Governance standards and controls.
• Ensure all solutions are engineered and built with Security standards at the forefront.
• Ensure all relevant documentation is written, reviewed and published per the department and team guidelines.
• Provide 3rd-level Support & critical incident management for assigned technologies - in a subject matter expert role
• Provide engineering input into the creation and maintenance of enterprise technology roadmaps.
• Perform architectural review of the existing environment based on best practices.

 
Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with the following preferred technologies or, minimally, direct equivalents;
  • Microsoft Windows 7/10 operating systems and associated infrastructures
  • Citrix XenDesktop, XenApp, AppDNA, Storefront, Netscaler
  • Microsoft SQL-Server
  • Microsoft App-V end-user application delivery
  • MSI packaging technology, tools and delivery methods.
  • Thin client delivery devices and supporting infrastructure tools
  • VMWare Vsphere
  • ESM storage and related de-duplication technologies
  • End User Experience monitoring software

• Strong technical knowledge of most versions of Citrix up to 7/15 (primary focus on XenApp) as well as NetScaler experience in a large Citrix farm environment (at least 200 servers and multiple Silos).

• 5-7 years technical knowledge with security and system implementation following industry standards for Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp, Citrix Storefront, Citrix Studio, Citrix Director, Citrix Provisioning Services, Netscaler Access Gateway, Netscaler Unified Gateway, UCS blades, Windows, Hyper-V, VMware, Network, Storage, Cloud and Security platforms.

• 7-10 years technical knowledge of client/server and internet systems architectures.

• At least 10 years’ experience in an equivalent remote desktop platform Architect and/or Senior Engineer role in a global, enterprise-scale environment preferably in the Financial Services industry.
• Educated to Bachelors or Master’s degree level in Computer Science, or a related discipline, from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
• Citrix Certified Administrator(CCA) certification required
