Job Description
The role is open in DevOps team which handles all build/deployment/environment needs for the largest program for one of the US retailers. Objective of this program is to deploy Point of Commerce solution to 1200+ InStore servers spread across nation which will be the primary connection for 20k+ Point of Commerce devices which will be used to transaction sale & return.
A DevOps engineer with 5+ years of experience is needed with below skills:
1. Great knowledge of Ansible with at least 2+ years of hands on experience.
2. Good knowledge of Puppet with at least 1+ years of hands on experience.
3. Scripting experience with Shell & Python - at least 2 years of hands on experience.
4. Great knowledge of Jenkins with 2+ years of hands on experience. Preferably with DSL & Groovy.
5. Good understanding of versioning with git, branching & merging.
6. Good analytical & communication skills are must to have.
7. Good to have - Knowledge of SyncThing.
? Average day in the life of this role: Work on automation & support Production deployments.
? Main duties/responsibilities and any tools/technology needed for this role:
o Identify automation needs and drive the automation work
o Handle automation responsibilities for ongoing release from DevOps stand point
o Enhance Production Change process
? Primary Skill Set for this role: DevOps & Ansible
? What are ?must-have? skills for this role? 4 years of experience in Ansible, 4 years in DevOps, 4 years in Jenkins DSL, 2 years in Shell, 1 year in Puppet, 1 year in Splunk
? ?Nice-to-have? skills : SyncThing, SQL
