Skills:

Strong conceptual understanding of Teradata systems and applications including Snowflake, MS Azure, Amazon Web Services, Red Shift, etc.

Relies upon data, own experiences, other’s perspectives, and a clear process when evaluating course of action and making recommendations and decisions
Role requires associate to recognize and adopt cost-saving ideas, quantify and address scope changes, seeks efficient ways to structure and accomplish work; coaches others on the financial impact of their role

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills are mandatory.

Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of a Teradata (database) architectural field – Is considered an expert in database architect – Having demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of a skill that they are able to develop new ideas to advance work using this skill set beyond typical usage.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Analysis and documentation of current technical architecture; lead or perform the design of the next-generation target architecture based on company needs and industry best practices Analysis and documentation of current technical architecture; lead or perform the design of the next-generation target architecture based on company needs and industry best practices;
Research, analyze, and implement strategic database application capabilities in Hosting, End User Computing, Cloud Capabilities, Storage, Software Defined Data Center, Networking, etc.
Ensure daily activities for database maintenance occur. Follow up and resolve issues that may impede successful completion of daily activities.
Deliverables include Position Papers, Reference Architectures, Evaluation Analysis, Business Case, and Implementation Roadmaps and detailed design. Provide guidance to infrastructure engineers and application teams to ensure that blue- prints and strategies are executed upon to realize promised benefits.
Advises Development applications team on technical application database strategy implementation including network, server, data performance, security architecture, disaster recovery and processes
Implement data structures within Teradata to support ongoing application development and updates to existing systems.
Develop ETL capabilities for new and current application enhancements and development.
Work with business partners and IT teams to ensure appropriate technical solutions are provisioned to meet business needs while managing costs effectively.
Ensure IT Applications capabilities and investment is aligned with True Value business strategy.
Provide leadership and guidance to enterprise database initiatives to review applications platform initiatives such as refresh and upgrade programs. Review of existing database and applications to identify Risks and Opportunities;
Participate in project reviews for development operations with database enhancements; Identify opportunities to improve resource efficiency of business applications through technology, application and database improvements.
Creation of and ownership of database and applications designs.
Review and approve Database Solutions for new applications to ensure Security, Availability and reduce total cost of ownership, development, and implementation.
Provide guidance to database engineers and other team members to raise the overall performance of the organization, identify and lead implementation of industry best practices for infrastructure design and maintenance; communicate technical knowledge and direction;

Work with project execution team to support successful execution of key projects. This function also includes the responsibility to participate in SDLC life cycle of a project and play an active role in project implementation
