Job Title: Accounts Payable Clerk

Duration: 6+ Months

Type: Contract 

Location: Nashua NH

SUMMARY

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical services to support the organization with a primary focus on the processing and monitoring of payments and expenditures. By providing these services in an effective and efficient manner, the A/P Specialist will ensure that finances are accurate and current and that vendors and suppliers are paid within established time limits. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities relating to month end close process, analyzing vendor statements and agings, and assistance with balance sheet reconciliations and audit compliance. They will interact with all levels within the organization. 

 QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED)

  • Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts, and corporate procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to interact interdepartmentally and with vendors in a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Possess strong organizational, time management, and follow-up skills
  • Self-motivated and reliable
  • Strong work ethics and ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner

 COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel capabilities
  • E-Automate preferred but not required

 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business related field or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Minimum of 1-3 years Payables experience required

 LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • English (reading, writing, verbal)

 MATH SKILLS

  • Intermediate business math required
