Job Description:


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• design and develop customer driven applications using Ciena's Blue Planet development platform
• write applications utilizing open-source software for Python or Java, Web based APIs and any other customer driven requirement
• work well in a team oriented / open environment
• people who have 'agile' experience and get excited about having newly developed features getting released to a live production site in a matter of days (even hours)
• will handle a wide array of tasks ranging from prototyping new techniques and technologies, to developing test automation, and supporting our growing customer base
• write quality code with high availability for large-scale applications in Carrier Class networking and Cloud based environments.

Experience / Skills Required

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science
• 5+ Years of Software development experience Python/Java/C++ development experience (more than just scripting)
• Experience programming in a Linux environment (preferably Ubuntu/Redhat)
• Experience with any of the following languages:
• Python/Java/C++ Strongly preferred
• JSON/XML
• Yang/Netconf/Tosca
• REST/HTTP API

Experience / Skills Desired

• Strong understanding of Networking devices and interfaces
• Experience developing software for L0-3 networking devices NMS/EMS or similar software development experience
• Understanding of the OpenStack Project Ecosystem a Plus Working knowledge of linux Containers/Docker a plus
• Knowledge of Datacenter networking concepts
• Understanding of Network Function Virtualization concepts
• Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN) models a plus Yang/Netconf
