Job Description:
Main areas of responsibility:
The Quality Control Data Analyst will understand data that is being generated through all business processes and ensure that it is adhering to the defined quality standards – quantitatively and qualitatively. Responsibilities includes developing accurate and detailed understanding of data flow - all the way from initial source to final destinations and transformations in between. Perform data analysis, use statistical analysis tools and techniques, provide reporting on data quality and overall governance issues. Establish continuous and automated monitoring of performance and quality control checks for master, reference, and transaction data plans to resolve issues and identify improvements.
• Perform Business and Data Analysis using SQL, and/or other reporting/data mining technologies tools
• Responsible for fully understanding business processes to ensure data and information integrity for data flowing through all systems. Identify risks and escalate to management appropriately.
• Work with system owners to understand the data flow through various systems, data reconciliation requirements, the development and delivery of both adhoc/recurring reports needed for reconciliation, and assisting with testing and implementation from a data lifecycle perspective
• Analyze data flow and identify system as well as business process issues
• Find ways to analyze data statistically to identify both system and business process issues
• Monitor data flow through various system in production and work with system owners to resolve issues as they come up, provide metrics for data monitoring
• Develop appropriate data requirements documentation in line with SDLC framework including Data Requirements, mapping, and test plans
• Define data quality plans to address data quality issues; work with business partners to build business understanding of data issues
• Establish strong working relationships with system owners and across the business as appropriate
• Handle individual workload and deliver upon project milestones on time and on budget
Minimum Qualifications:
• 3 – 5 years of data and statistical analysis background
• Must have experience in property and casualty insurance or in financial services
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong data analysis background and should be able to do independent analysis on data
• Knowledge of data visualization and presentation methods for data analysis and interpretation, performance dashboards, and generating, managing and delivering presentations and reports capable of yielding insights and actionable results
• Must have experience working with large SQL databases
• Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
• Experience in data warehousing is a required
• Strong understanding of Excel
• Strong knowledge of relevant technology toolsets for data analysis and documentation including SQL, data modeling, metadata organization, data cleansing, and reporting tools such as Cognos, or other data reporting/data mining tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Excellent communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment for resolution of issues
