ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Documentation of Business requirements
• Understanding of GL keeping
• Knowledge of NAV (Net Asset Value) and performance returns
• Understands/experience with different asset types
• Reconciling secondary accounting system data to custodial records
• Managing reference data in the accounting engine
• Performs period end closes along with completing special reporting specific to each fund
• Experience with capital statements creation/distribution
• Operational knowledge of activities like support for funds, including banking services, generating wire transfers, bank account transfers, and account set up
• Operational knowledge of activities like preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and audit support files
• Understanding of fund audits and operation support

REREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related discipline required, Master’s degree preferred
• 3-5 years of experience with an accounting system like Advent Geneva, Axys or other fund accounting software
• 3-5 years’ related experience – investment accounting experience preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Must have intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills, comfortable with simple and moderately complex Excel formulas and tools
• Ability to work independently, prioritize, and effectively manage client workload
• Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of professionals (colleagues, fund managers, investors) verbally and in writing
• Ability to analyze financial statements, and understand performance trends
