General Overview
This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data visualization tools and dashboards with Power BI. This position will collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine reporting needs, identify data requirements, and develop key performance indicators which play a major role in effective daily management, decision-making and process improvements. Success in this role requires a balance of business acumen, practical business analytics and technical skills along with a talent for communicating complex information concisely and clearly.
Primary Accountabilities
- Works closely with partners across the business to understand their reporting and analytical needs
- Understand Clients data environment to design and create innovative visualizations and dashboards to meet business needs for both internal and external customers
- Analyze existing Power BI dashboards and normalize into an ongoing, enterprise wide process
- Evaluate current reporting framework and processes to discover opportunities to move existing reports to more effective and consumable outputs
- Evaluate, implement, and maintain improved reporting and data visualization tools and platforms
Qualifications / Experience
- Must have a deep understanding of Power BI Desktop/and SQL
- Experience working in with SQL Server and SQL Management Studio
- Business Acumen in Healtchcare Payor Insurance is a strong Nice To Have
- Must be able to visualize data—work with data sets to architect the most insightful data extracts and transform into effective visualizations.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple functions to identify and support reporting needs and requirements—actively listen and translate business needs into effective data, report, and visualization outputs.
- Must demonstrate advanced skills in data management software and ability to quickly learn multiple programs and related software systems. Fluency in Excel is a must. Diverse understanding of other software programs preferred.
- Must have experience in developing KPIs and data visualizations that will drive business decisions.
- Experience with Power BI infrastructure including workspace, gateway and refresh functionality
- Comfortable developing and publishing client facing material with the ability to perform detailed quality assurance to ensure the highest degree of accuracy.
- Must have a strong eye for aesthetics to ensure data visualizations are clean, appealing, and professionally represented.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
