Position: Datapower Consultant
Location: Round Rock, TX
Duration: 12 months
Job Description:

- Datapower or Layer7 Architect or Developer
- Provides technical expertise and leadership to develop solutions spanning business processes, operating systems, applications, and hardware platforms.
- Reviews and/or designs apis and makes recommendations based on governing principles.
- Work closely with SOA Solution Architects and Product Owner to standardize apis
- Develops and/or recommends standards, guidelines, and best practices for APIs.
- Develop solutions
- Work with stakeholders with all levels of technical knowledge
- Work with business critical applications across functional areas.
- Negotiates acceptable solutions to complex problems across multiple business and/or technical areas.
- Defines and specifies re-usable services based on the analysis and understanding of existing legacy processes and code.
Required Qualifications:
- Hands-on development experience in IBM Data power – XI52 or IDG - gateway Appliances – MPG , WSP and XML Gateway
- Understanding of Web Services ( SOAP or Rest ) internals , Workflows & messaging
- Strong hands on experience with Java (i.e., managed implementation and/or development experience) a plus.
- Experience with deployment and administration of J2EE Application Servers and Containers (e.g., Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere, Spring, etc.). – a plus
- Understanding and/or development experience in any of the following Web Services: WSDL, XML, SOAP, J2EE, and/or WS-Security.
- Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Sciences or similar
- Experience with Linux server operating systems.
- Understanding of network and security principles
- Broad knowledge of different IT domains such as network, security, architecture and processes.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of API best practices
- Development and deployment experience with API policies in CA API Gateway Policy Manager (9.x).
- CA OAuth 2.0 Toolkit and Mobile Auth Gateway experience
- Understanding of common API security threats or attack vectors and the assertions to address them • Gateway API Troubleshooting skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provides technical and consultative leadership for solutions opportunities on a range of complex engagements.
- Delivery of technical architectural design, strategies and plans for engagements.
- Technical expert in leading pre-sales meeting or presentation.
- Able to assist in creating proposals that address current and evolving client requirements.
- Participates in installation, customization, and integration of a Client solution.
- Works on complex projects and manages multiple work streams.
- Defines and authors deliverables.
- Delivers projects with approved methodology while adhering to margin, planning and SOW requirements.
- Ability to supervise staff and plan or assign work on project engagements.
- Leads project quality assurance activities, including technical QA reviews.
- Understands and adheres to proper escalation and change control procedures.
- Validates requirements, limited prototyping and functionality design and creates proposals that address current and evolving client requirements.
- May provide testing process, code reviews, certification of software, and issue resolution as point of contact for technical questions.
- Understands that travel may be required for extended periods of time.
- Understands customer business challenges and provides strategy that addresses long term goals.
- Independently analyzes large amounts of data, provide logical options, create and delivery correct documentation, sound work products and deliverable to achieve customer satisfaction.
