Role : ETL/SSIS Developer

Location : Miami , FL

Duration : 6 Months

Interview : Phone and Skype

The Integration Developer is responsible for creating, managing and supporting ETL processes that load data from various sources into various back-end systems.  This individual will be responsible for participating in design, development, unit testing, and execution of data migration and integration processes.  This role will also help support the design, review, and testing of processes created by external vendors for both shipboard and shoreside applications.

This role does not have a regular on-call support requirement but may require occasional times for supporting production issues during off-hours. 

Essential Functions

• Communicates and understands both business and technical requirements and needs with the respective teams.  Ability to communicate to both business users (internal customers) and technical resources, such as developers, architects and analysts.
• Creates and maintains positive relationships with customers in both business and technical groups
• Design, develop, test and implement data migration and integration mappings for organizational data warehouse
• Work with technical business analyst and other team members for defining technical and data requirements for organizational applications
• Develop data filtering, transformation and loading rules from data sources into target data sets as specified in the design and requirements
• Maintain and support scheduled processes for data refresh supporting business intelligence solutions
• Support development and unit testing for bug fixes and production issues for all supported data processes
• Complete code reviews for ETLs and related components, and complete documentation of issues identified and action items.
• Design, consult, and test data processes created by external vendors for both shipboard and shoreside applications, including the Customer & Reservation system/s, Website, and Property Management Systems
• Provide problem-solving support, advice and guidance to internal customers which is professional, responsive, and assume responsibility for conclusion
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly processes and tasks to the required standard
• Attend and engages in daily standup meetings along with other agile team ceremonies, as required
• Provide guidance and analysis on potential system impact to IT managers.  This includes changes to current processes, applications, file layouts, and web services.

Competency

Education: Bachelors in associated field required.

Experience:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in an SSIS ETL developer role
• Minimum 7 years of experience participating in technology implementation projects
• Experience working with data warehouse data migration and/or data integration
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, multi-dimensional analytics (MDA) and/or online analytical processing (OLAP)
• Experience with data integration tools, such as SSIS, Mulesoft or Pentaho
• Experience creating data processes through T-SQL, PL/SQL, mySQL or other data languages (e.g., Procedures, Query construct, Triggers, etc.)
• Preferred experience as a data analyst and/or QA tester working with data interface projects
• Preferred experience with Microsoft based solutions- SQL Management Studio, SSIS, Data Import, PowerBI
• Preferred experience with web service file formats, including XML and JSON
• Preferred experience with scheduling or service Bus tools
• Preferred experience in web languages, such as .NET, PHP, Java, or Python
• Preferred experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud-based architectures

 

Skills:

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; strong critical self-review skills
• Demonstrated ability to deliver communication which is clear, concise, and relevant to audience through appropriate methods and tools
• Demonstrated mid-level or above proficiency with developing data mappings, including data filtering, business rule application, and data management rules.
• High degree of professionalism
• Proficiency in data analysis, data manipulation and cleansing, and query development
• Proactive approach to role and problem solving; solution rather than problem focused
• Self-motivated, flexible, with the ability to deal with high levels of complexity, change and evolving processes, often at short notice
• Understanding of SDLC and project management methodology
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
