Title: Cloud Engineer
Location: Johnston, IA
Responsibilities
As a Cloud Engineer, you will work with a team of engineers and architects to design and build cloud based solutions for financial services applications. In addition, you will:
Be engaged as a unit/division expert and technical consultant on cloud technology and the implementation of that technology to solve complicated and high-risk business requirements
Develop, deploy, and maintain solutions to maintain JDF's compliance needs and goals by partnering with Information Security engineers and architects
Help integrate Amazon Web-Services (AWS) and systems hosted at AWS with other systems and tools (e.g. monitoring tools)
Work with application delivery teams to implement and integrate with the cloud and provide training and mentoring to those teams while overseeing the technical implementation of these projects in alignment with enterprise architecture
Align unit cloud solutions with enterprise IT architecture and where gaps exist, facilitate changes to the overall architecture
Assist with cost controls to keep cloud use balanced between needs and budgets
Ensure best practices and standards, for the cloud environment are adhered to by application development teams
Assist with monitoring and troubleshooting issues with cloud hosted infrastructure and drive towards problem resolution
Evaluate new technology, products, and practices and continually innovate and keep up with industry standards, tools and software development methodologies
What Skills You Need
4 or more years of experience with software development, testing, deployment, lifecycle, and best practices (High, medium)
Experience with a wide range of Amazon Web Services products (compute, security, storage, etc.) (High, medium)
Experience with serverless architecture (i.e. AWS Lambda, containers) (High, medium)
Ability to effectively teach and mentor teams and individuals (High, medium)
4 or more years of experience with either Java, Node JS, python languages (High, medium)
Expert-level experience in analyzing and translating business requirements into technical solutions (High, medium)
Ability to present information to an audience that includes employees with limited technical background (High, medium)
What Makes You Stand Out

Experience with DevOps principles and lean development including Agile and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (High, medium, low)
3 or more years of experience designing, building, and deploying solutions hosted with AWS (High, medium, low)
Experience designing, building, and deploying complex multi-tiered systems (High, medium, low)
Experience providing training to groups as well as in one on one settings (High, medium, low)
Professional level Amazon Web Services certifications (High, medium, low)
Education (or equivalent work experience)
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology related discipline (High, medium, low)
