Position: Data Analyst Employment Type: Contract Location: :: Salt Lake City, UT Job Summary: Responsibilities: - Responsible to work with various technical developers to review, analyse and evaluate data fields to create required technical documents.
- Performs and participates in the analysis of data migration mapping.
- Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
- Develop and implement data quality metrics systems and other strategies that optimize data quality
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources in support of data migration, profiling and cleansing activities.
- Validation of source to target datasets
- Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Work closely with management to prioritize data quality needs
- Review of technical documents.
- Participate in technical reviews and “working” meetings.
- Communicates- writing, speaking, and presentation- concepts and constraints completely and clearly.
Qualifications - Proven working experience as a data analyst
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field
- Requires 5+ years’ experience in data analysis and related work
- A combination of education and experience may meet requirements
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Requires strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with developing, testing and maintaining ETL processes.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL, Oracle etc), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks)
- Working experience on Mainframe’s using COBOL programming Language, Easytrieve and Job Control Language (JCL) a plus
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc) a plus
- Grasps business-centric data principles
- Requires advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to work with both management and technical staff employees.
- Proficient in the use of various software programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, etc.
- A solid understanding of banking and Deposits operations and business activities.
