Job Title: Tableau Development and Administration/BO Developer

Location: Springfield, IL

Duration: 6 Months+

Interview Mode: PHONE & SKYPE

    

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of Tableau Development and Administration experience with strong reporting and data analytics background.
  • 3+ years of Business Objects (BO) Development and Reporting experience.
  • 3+ years of Data Warehouse project experience
  • 7+ years of SQL development including 3 Years SQL and Performance Tuning
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills,  end client facing skills, and team collaboration skills
  • Mentoring co-workers, training, and knowledge sharing

 

ANY ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE OR SKILL SETS WILL BE BENEFICAL FOR THE POSITION:

Preferred Skills:

  • 2+ Years Teradata Version 13/14/15 Experience including SQL Assistant
  • Experience with State Medicaid / Medicare / Healthcare applications
  • Knowledge / experience in Informatica Power Center, ETL, Unix, and Scripting
  • Knowledge / experience in Windows/Linux Hardware / Software Administration
  • Experience working in Agile projects/environment and Agile tools (Version One / Rally / Agile JIRA)

 

Following are the notes on the position detail requirements:

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, Developing, and Implementing Dashboards, Scorecards in the Tableau platform
  • Gathering Data, Reports, Analytics Requirements, perform analysis and propose optimal solution that add business value
  • Convert applicable BO reports to interactive Tableau reports or dashboards
  • Tableau administration and support security, access, and controls requirements
  • Developing and analyzing highly complex system standards, thresholds, and recommendations to maximize system performance
  • Evaluating products and upgrades for appropriateness and lead the implementation and upgrade strategies.
  • Installing, configuring and managing SAP BI platform XIR4.1 sp6 and or above
  • Standing up SAP BI environments for and or in case of a disaster situation
  • Experience in Open Text BIQuery Development and Administration
  • Administer and maintain Ad-hoc reporting models using Open Text BIQuery 10.5.1 or above
  • Knowledge on managing and creating “.hlp” metadata files for Open Text BIQuery use
  • Managing row level and object level securities using SAP Business Objects 4.1 sp6 or above environment
  • Business Objects universe and report development
  • Business Objects reporting experience on Teradata Platform is required
  • Analyzing project requirements and develop detailed specifications for new and existing data warehouse reporting requirements
  • Reviewing and validating the development of test data and scenarios incorporating extensive knowledge of the Agency’s business rules.
  • Developing or acquiring test data and initiate tests to determine the accuracy of reporting logic to produce desired results.
  • Communicating effectively, verbally and in writing, with programmers, analysts, immediate supervisor, management, system users, operations, other State agencies and the private sector.
  • Meeting with users for clarification and elaboration as may be necessary to clearly define a problem and conceptualize a development plan. Recognize, gather, correlate, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and devise solutions and alternatives and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Working with the DBA and Data Modelers, facilitate modification of the logical design to create a physical design most suited to the reporting needs of the customer.
  • Working with Developers and Admins to create and maintain design standards.

 

Secondary Support:

  • Performing system backups and recovery using Symantec’s Backup Exec 2012 and or above.
  • Analyzing IBM Tivoli logs and responds to alerts and errors.
  • Monitoring of SAN storage with the knowledge and ability to react to alerts and errors
  • Configuring and managing HP MSA Storage arrays
  • Installing, configuring and administering Windows Server 2008 R2 or higher platforms on HP DLT Servers
  • Installing, configuring and administering Microsoft SQL Server 2008 on Windows Server 2008 R2.
  • Managing Windows Server in multiple environments for application and report development, testing, training and production.
  • Supporting application servers software and operating system admin activities

 

Other Requirements Notes:

  • Recognize, gather, correlate, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and devise solutions and alternatives and make appropriate recommendations
  • Working with the users, SMEs, BA, developers, DBA,  system administrators, and modelers
  • Experience in SharePoint
  • Strong emphasis on Tableau and Business Objects skills – would like to see a resume history that is focused on Analytics and Reports as primary skill for 5+ years
  • Teradata related skills is also desirable and could be very helpful in winning the position
  • Ability to work with end users / customers to understand the reporting requirements
  • Ability to quickly learn new business area or technical skills based on project needs
  • Ability to understand performance considerations of reporting requirements - able to debug and correct report performance issues
  • Ability to design applications taking into consideration data reconciliation (to the source system); query/reporting performance, and analytical business value.
  • Needs to be able to work independently and not rely on State or other team members to learn Tableau or Business Objects - need someone at Senior level
  • Ability to be flexible to adapt to changes, supporting continuous improvement, and perform multiple responsibilities as required by the project team
  • Performing additional duties that are normally associated with this position, as assigned
  • Need to operate from our Customer facility in Springfield, IL
