VFS has requested an experienced Data Warehouse Architect to work on the design and implementation of VFS data warehouse solutions. Job responsibilities: Work with the Data Warehouse team to translate business requirements into a technical architecture vision. Assist BI development team in the design of database solutions. Work with business owners and business users to understand and translate user requirements into logical data models, physical data model aligning with VFS global data models. Design and develop the architecture for data storage strategy, tool integration strategy, ETL strategy, data staging, movement and aggregation. Also work with Business Intelligence Analysts to develop information and analytic delivery and data quality strategy. Conduct profiling of data sources and determine cleansing and data quality rules. Work with BI team to incorporate business requirements into Models, Extract, Transformation and Load (ETL) processes. Manage Meta Data. Participate in the process of scheduling, extraction and loading of data to the Data Warehouse environment. Assist in the resolution of tuning and performance issues within the Data Warehouse environment. Administration of BI/ETL tools as necessary   Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience architecting large scale data warehouses using Oracle, knowledge of data vault architecture preferable. Experience in data profiling and data mapping to understand characteristics and availability of data in source system and how they map to data warehouse. Expert data modeling skills including conceptual, logical and physical model design. Experience with Operation Data Stores, Enterprise Data Warehouses and Data Marts. A comprehensive knowledge of the design and development of jobs using ETL, ELT and capture technologies. Be able to recommend the adoption of the right pattern for a given job and be able to speak to the pros and cons of each. Experience in populating Data Mart’s Fact tables and Dimensions, including the creation of Slowly Changing Dimension maintenance processes Expert RDBMS knowledge of Oracle (release 10g and 11g) At least 5 years of experience in Standard Query Language and a procedural language such as PL\SQL Provides expertise in devising, negotiating and defending the tables and fields provided in the database. Knowledge of Central Repository and Data Mart Architectures Familiarity with competing Data Warehousing philosophies and methodologies   SKILLS: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively. Sound business judgment and decision making abilities. Customer Service and Quality focused with proven process improvement skills. Innovative problem solving, research and analytical skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
