Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer with a strong background in backend and distributed systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in building and deploying scalable AI/ML systems, particularly involving Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), semantic search architectures, and OpenAI LLM integrations in production environments.

Note: There will be a detailed coding test at the client’s end. Please ensure thorough validation of candidates’ hands-on expertise and provide a detailed skill matrix along with submissions.

Required Experience

• 12+ years of overall IT development experience with strong backend and distributed systems expertise.
• 7+ years of experience in Machine Learning, Data Engineering, or Applied AI Engineering.

Technical Skills & Responsibilities

Core Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Python, with experience building modular, production-grade services.
• Proven experience implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and semantic search architectures.
• Hands-on experience integrating and operationalizing OpenAI LLM APIs in production environments.
• Experience building scalable, secure, and observable AI/ML systems in production.

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Strong experience working within AWS environments, including:
• Amazon S3
• AWS Lambda
• Amazon ECS / EKS
• AWS IAM
• Experience deploying and managing distributed systems in cloud-native environments.

System Design & Architecture

• Expertise in backend system design and distributed systems.
• Experience designing high-availability, scalable AI solutions.
• Strong understanding of security, monitoring, logging, and observability best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in enterprise-scale AI/ML deployments.
• Strong problem-solving and coding skills (mandatory due to detailed client-side coding assessment).
• Ability to work in hybrid onsite model (2 days per week in Manhattan, NY).
