Location: Mountain View, CA (Hybrid)

 

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Java and distributed systems. In this high-impact role, you will drive backend architecture, design, and development while leading the integration of a newly acquired product into our core platform. Your primary responsibilities will center around building scalable microservices, optimizing backend performance, and ensuring secure, high-availability system operations.

 

Key Responsibilities
• Architect, design, and develop scalable Java-based backend services and APIs
• Lead integration of a new product into existing backend ecosystem
• Build and maintain microservices leveraging Spring Boot and modern distributed design patterns
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product needs into technical solutions
• Drive development best practices, code reviews, performance tuning, and operational excellence
• Ensure security, reliability, and maintainability across backend systems
• Participate in end-to-end SDLC including deployment, monitoring, and support

 

Qualifications
• 7+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience with a focus on Java
• Deep expertise with Spring Boot, microservices, RESTful services, and distributed architectures
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Solid understanding of system integration, scalability, and performance optimization
• Proficiency with containerization and orchestration: Docker & Kubernetes
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
