Job Title: Nokia Network Engineer

Location: Chicago, IL

Rate: $48 /hr on C2C

 

JD:

Design and implement MPLS networks using Nokia 7750 SR and 7705 SAR platforms.

Configure and maintain DWDMOTN systems using Nokia 1830 PSS.

Perform network provisioning, testing, and troubleshooting across IP and optical layers.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network migrations from legacy SONETTDM to MPLSDWDM.

Monitor network performance and optimize routing and wavelength assignments.

Maintain and update network documentation and configuration standards.

Interface with Nokia support and vendors for escalations and firmware upgrades.

 

Strong hands-on experience with Nokia IPMPLS platforms (7750 SR, 7705 SAR).Deep understanding of DWDM, OTN, and optical transport technologies

Familiarity with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, RSVP-TE, Segment Routing).

Experience with network management tools like Nokia NSP (Network Services Platform)

Proficiency in troubleshooting tools (OTDR, spectrum analyzers, Wireshark)

Certifications such as NRS III (Nokia Network Routing Specialist) are a plus

Bachelors degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field

Preferred Experience5 years in telecom or service provider environments

.Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible) for network operations

Knowledge of SDNNFV architectures and integration with cloud platforms
