Job Overview:
A Payments Business Analyst in the banking domain acts as the crucial link between business stakeholders and IT teams. This expert analyzes, designs, and implements solutions for a bank's payment systems.
This role requires a deep understanding of the payments ecosystem, including various payment types, clearing and settlement mechanisms, and industry regulations.
The ideal candidate will use their expertise to drive efficiency, ensure compliance, and support the development of new payment products and services.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Economics, Information Technology, or a related field. Professional certifications like CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or Agile-related certifications are a plus.
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a business analyst, with significant experience in the payments domain within the banking or financial services sector.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in requirements management tools like JIRA and Confluence.
- Strong data analysis skills, including proficiency with SQL and business intelligence tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience with core banking or payment systems (e.g., Finacle, T24, Flexcube, GPP).
- Familiarity with process modeling tools (e.g., Visio, BPMN).
Domain Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of the end-to-end payment's lifecycle, from front-office to back-office processing.
- Solid understanding of payment clearing and settlement mechanisms.
- Experience with ISO 20022 migration projects is highly desirable.
- Awareness of modern payment trends like real-time payments (RTP).
Soft Skills:
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
