Role – Business Intelligence Engineers 

Location - Seattle, WA (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite)

Duration – 12+ month

 

Data Flow Using These AWS Services:

Raw data → S3
Glue crawler catalogs it → Glue/Spark transforms → Redshift
QuickSight creates dashboards from Redshift data

 

Requirements –

The client is looking for BIE & Des to provide their internal teams to speed up the delivery of ad-hoc data requests, insights generation, dashboard updates, etc.. The personnel will work with client teams, partner teams to capture data insights/analytical requirements and provide designs along with data models for Data Visualizations & reports. They would also be responsible to provide documentation supporting the analysis as per the client provided development guidelines .

 

Key Responsibilities shall include (mandatory skills highlighted):

• Designing and developing dashboards and reports using QuickSight
• Building and maintaining data pipelines (ETL processes) using AWS Glue, EMR or internal Amazon tools.
• Conducting deep-dive analyses to identify business trends, anomalies, and opportunities.
• Supporting data modelling in AWS S3 and AWS Redshift.
• Ensuring data accuracy and integrity through validation and monitoring processes.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Product, Operations, and Data Engineering.  

 

Deliverables of the role shall include:

• Dashboard/data pipeline Design Documents
• Data Models
• Unit Test Plan and User Acceptance Testing Plan
• Deployment Plans and Runbooks
• ETL pipelines for ingesting and transforming data
• New dashboards and visualizations
• Written analytical summaries
• Contribution of content to biweekly sprint reports
• Wiki updates  

 

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Informatics, Mathematics, or related technical discipline
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Intelligence Engineer or in a similar role
• Advanced SQL and query performance tuning skills
• Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, building & maintaining ETL pipelines
• Knowledge of data management fundamentals and data storage principles
• Coding proficiency in Python or other scripting languages

• Experience with AWS services (Redshift, RDS, S3, Glue, Athena)  

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in data engineering, Applied Data Science, or related field
• 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer in environments with complex data sources
• Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems
• Knowledge of security operations or public sector domains
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
