- Sits within enterprise apps (development/delivery & support) –
- Software quality has test leads who are assigned to programs – they are leading testing efforts for those programs. The gap in her team is for a Quality Practice Lead – this person would have worked in regulated environments, not hands on testing/keyboard isn’t expected a lot – its more strategic leadership – understanding current quality practices and improving them – providing oppty for improvements and change/behavior of the team/projects and how its implemented – leading and planning software quality improvement inititaives, establish processes and standards –
- Onsite or hybrid
- Good understanding of tests, azure devops, servicenow – helpful – ITSM concepts & SDLC knowledge
- This person was a tester in their previous positions – not just software testing – software quality is important – its more than just testing the applications – its validation planning/risk assessment/ -- must come from regulated environment – access management, participating in audits, quality aspects of a deliverable not meeting standards – trying to back track and seeing why something happened.
- Software QUALITY!! That’s huge – not just testing
- Wont have any direct reports- will influence how other QA Practice Leads do their work
- Automated testing is part of the equation – they leverage automation testing heavily and it might be impacting those processes

The Software Quality Practice Lead has the responsibility of providing tactical leadership in regards to software quality best practices. To this end, the Practice Lead must continuously be researching industry trends and translating them to action items for the competency team members to learn and implement.
Responsible for establishing software quality best practices throughout the SDLC. Expected to improve the skills of each member of the competency through active mentoring and technical as well as process leadership. Constantly evaluate and implementing new practices, tools, and technologies that improve efficiency and effectiveness of their competency.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
• IT Quality Process definition and implementation
• Represent QA during internal/external audits, ensuring audit-readiness at all times
• Representing the QA community on various governance committees
• Work with delivery teams to pilot new practices
• Evaluating implementation of best practices
• Facilitating knowledge transfer forums
• Participate in industry forums
• Troubleshoot when project deliverables are delayed or do not meet quality standards, providing an assessment on procedural or other changes necessary to improve consistent delivery of solutions on-time and within quality standards
• Have good knowledge on the SDLC phases of the project and have prior experience of performing peer reviews
• Collaborate with other competency Practice Leads to bring about improved cross-functional delivery patterns
