Position: Azure Data Lead

Location: Chicago, IL

As the Azure Data Lead, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing our data solutions on the Azure platform. You will lead a team of data engineers and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a successful migration from AWS to Azure. This role requires deep expertise in Azure data services, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of successful data migration projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the migration of data infrastructure and workloads from AWS to Azure, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and maximum performance and scalability.
  • Design and implement data solutions on Azure, including data storage, data warehousing, data lakes, and data analytics platforms.
  • Architect and optimize data pipelines for ingestion, processing, and analysis of large-scale data sets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define data migration strategies, and establish best practices for data management on Azure.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers, guiding them in implementing efficient and scalable data solutions.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and procedures for data architecture and data governance on Azure.

·         Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in cloud computing, data engineering, and analytics to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • years of experience in data engineering or data architecture roles, with a focus on cloud platforms.
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure data services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks, etc.
  • Proven experience leading data migration projects from AWS to Azure, including assessing current environments, designing target architectures, and executing migration plans.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, SQL, or Scala, with experience building and optimizing data pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert are a plus.
