Primary Purpose
Client is seeking a Business Analyst (BA) to join our rapidly growing team. The successful candidate will provide analytical support for our utility-led energy efficiency incentive programs by collecting, analyzing, and reporting program data. This role will also serve as the program's point of contact with IT Teams to manage, improve and test program databases.
Tasks May Include
- Compile and analyze program and project level data such as energy savings, incentives, and application status
- Develop and run reports, processes, graphs, and dashboards to track key program performance metrics, including forecasting energy savings, tracking budgets and client invoices
- Develop, streamline, document, and automate program processes
- Utilize group-wide and ad hoc databases for analysis and reporting
- Perform a critical analysis of program data to identify operational and data anomalies and exceptions
- Quickly translate data and accompanying analysis into internal, client, and management presentations
- Manage and perform quality control on reports and analyses
- Manage backend processes to provide cadence reporting to the client and in-house finance and accounting teams
- Notify manager of projected anomalies
- Prepare backend data to make ready for other parties to process
- Follow and enforce QAQC processes
- Assist with trade our financial client management
- Document role to ensure continuity of work
- Manage small initiatives to completion
- Continuous improvement of backend tools and client deliverables
- Other tasks as needed
- Bachelor's degree in the analytic discipline.
- Three to Five years of experience compiling and analyzing data and producing data-intensive reports
- High attention to detail and reporting precision
- Understanding of and management within large utility-client bureaucracies
- A proven and demonstrable grasp of data analysis tools such as Power BI, Oracle, SQL Server, Excel or equivalent
- High Degree of Proficiency with Excel inclusive of Pivot Tables, Data Management Tools, and advanced formulas and functions
- Demonstrated analytical abilities to develop and implement resolutions for business challenges and issues.
- Willingness and ability to travel, via airplane, as required up to approximately 10% of the year.
- Five to Eight Years of energy efficiency experience
- Prior experience in market research inclusive of market analysis, market assessment, and market segmentation
- Familiarity with energy savings analysis and modeling tools
- Proficiency in and understanding of accounting concepts (invoicing, accruals, forecasting, etc.)
- Familiarity with data reconciliation applications (e.g. month-end accounting reconciliations, accruals, inventory reconciliations, etc.)
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Prior participation in complex database management system projects. Experience with JIRA is desired
- Prior project experience in data mining and/or analytics initiatives
- Pro-active approach to the analytical tool and analytical model development
- Positive, collaborative, and team-oriented attitude
