JOB DESCRIPTION : 
PowerBI and Tableau are the main items. This role is for a conversion project to port existing reports/dashboards from Tableau into PowerBI, so the resource will need to be able to work through the entire Tableau and PBI solutions in these tools.
This includes data sourcing, building data models, building data extracts, building reports/dashboards, controlling access to reports/dashboards.
Most technical resources with expertise in reporting tools are usually SQL experts as well and we absolutely need that here.
There are some new reports/dashboards that will be built in PBI for this effort as well.
 
Required:
8+ years Data Warehouse or relevant Business Intelligence work experience
4+ years Power BI and Tableau experience
2+ years Erwin experience / related data modeling tool
Extensive knowledge of Business Intelligence Data Warehousing processes and best practices
Experience in Kimball dimensional modelling
Experience with Analytics Databases like Snowflake or Vertica
Advanced interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to work with others across a wide variety of disciplines and build consensus
Advanced communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex or difficult information
Ability to work well within an agile team environment
Ability work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions
Detail orientation and ability to deliver a high level of accuracy
 
Preferred/Bonus:
Insurance or Financial Services industry experience
Expert data analysis and SQL skills
Advanced ability to solve complex problems, drawing upon creativity, experience, and multiple sources of information
 
Position Overview
The Information Management Team utilizes best practice design techniques to deliver analytical platforms, data management, and business intelligence solutions that meet business needs. We work closely with business teams to translate their requirements into technology solutions, empower them to work more efficiently and deliver a superior service to our customers.
 
The Senior Business Intelligence Developer designs, develops, tests, implements, documents, and supports business intelligence systems. This includes reporting database design and the expert use of Power BI and Tableau to build business friendly reports and dashboards. This person will participate in setting project design standards and will lead the technical delivery of reporting services within project teams. The ideal candidate is experienced in working with business stakeholders to understand their analytical needs and leverages knowledge of data warehouse best practices and technologies to execute responsibilities.
 
Responsibilities
Works with business and IT stakeholders on project teams to
Define requirements for new analytical capabilities and business intelligence solutions
Build data models supporting business intelligence solutions leveraging best practices
Design, develop, test and implement interactive reporting and dashboard solutions and supporting security models
Document solutions and provide support as needed
Performs business intelligence design and testing, including data design, business intelligence architecture, metadata, and repository creation
Develops and maintains the business intelligence solutions including capacity planning
Builds an understanding of source application databases or data warehouses by analyzing data models and leveraging data profiling techniques
Educates business stakeholders on reporting strategies and capabilities
Seeks continuous improvement while ensuring the security, accuracy, and performance of business intelligence solutions
Applies standards, processes, and best practice procedures for business intelligence solutions
Evaluates business requests to determine feasibility; researches and identifies options
Encourages collaboration and assists in the development of a shared understanding of evolving requirements and project needs
Participates in project planning, sprint planning, change management, Q&A testing, troubleshooting, and incident response activities
