Need recent 2-3 projects with good well known east coast clients/ corporate ideally insurance/financial etc or similiar.
On every project – there should be an explanation of the project for which candidate worked (1-2 lines will work )– not the details of client
Projects should not be short terms.
A Sr. SQL Server Developer job is available for a Contract role at our client in NYC, a large Pension Fund Manager in NYC. The candidate must be able to work independently to develop, test and support very complex data cleansing scripts in support of a multi-phase legacy system replacement effort.
THE SKILLS YOU NEED TO GET THE ROLE:
- A minimum of 8 years of development experience with MS SQL Server
- Design, develop and deploy complex T-SQL Queries for data cleansing on a DB2 system.
- Provide expert technical feedback to functional spec designers and business analysts
- Tune T-SQL queries to improve performance
- Develop complex program logic using T-SQL
- Experience in Data Modeling and Data Analysis in MS SQL Server 2012/2008
- Lead and make design decisions to create simple, well-structured and re-usable software components as part of a larger enterprise application framework
- Demonstrated skill in understanding relational table design and applying optimized indexes
- Detailed knowledge of Data Modeling, both relational and dimensional
- Strong analytical and data management skills
- Exposure to Data Profiling Best Practices
- Conduct extremely thorough Unit Testing that yields very low defect code
- Ensure accuracy & integrity of data & applications through analysis, coding, writing clear documentation & problem resolution
- Analyze and translate functional specifications & change requests into technical specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with legacy data migrations is preferred
- Experience with large-scale membership/benefits administration application is also preferred
- Experience with DB2 legacy systems is a plus
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving ability is required for this position
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science or similar
