Job description:
Database engineer
It's open to USC, GC and GC-EAD consultants.
Contract Length: 24 months
Location: 100% REMOTE


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• 12+ years with Bachelor's Degree or 8+ years with a Masters
• Cassandra Certification / Datastax
• Database management and engineering (both project delivery and production support)
• Bash scripting
• Python
• Linux
• Neo4J
• MongoDB
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs in all database management areas & applies advanced knowledge.
• Sets quality standards relative to all aspects of database management.
• Consults with management to promote & develop technical enhancements.
• Manages large, complex, long-term projects or projects that are critical priority for the user community; leads initiatives & special projects.
• Role model/mentor in database & business user community.
• Evaluates & recommends the purchase & utilization of technologies (DMBS/s, servers, extract & conditioning tools, metadata management, security tools, archival/recovery tools & data access).
• Develops project plans for implementing data warehouses; designs data storage & management processes for specific data warehouse projects.
• Plans projects & oversees the tactical aspects of a data warehouse implementation & maintenance.
• Diagnoses, resolves & implements preventive measures for applications & system software.
• Analyzes & works on non-standard problems or issues that span multiple technologies (browser to spindle & proposes long-term solutions & fixes).
• Recommends & oversees implementation of system level configuration modifications. Performs complex application environment builds & refreshes.
• Creates & implements disaster recovery procedures
