| Role: Sr Hadoop Engineer with Azure Franklin, TN ( Initial 1-3 Month remote) Job Description/Requirements
As a Technical Specialist Azure Hadoop, you will be a part of an Agile team to build healthcare applications and implement new features while adhering to the best coding development standards. Your key responsibilities include: - Responsible for managing SQL Server jobs and daily production loads to the data warehouse. This will entail the full scope of the ETL (Extract Transform Load) process, including client files, the ingestion engine, SSIS packages, process management, and SLA tracking
- Knowledge of SQL Server operations, ETL/SSIS, TSQL coding, and medical file data
- Troubleshoot and resolve ETL process issues, including bad data, file mapping, performance issues for SSIS packages and ETL processes, and reviewing stored procedures and functions for issues
- Experience with automation, process improvement, documentation, development, SDLC, source control, and versioning as data warehouse development work will be required from time to time
- Expertise in Azure platform such as Data Factory, Data Bricks, ADLS Gen2, Synapse
- Adhere to shift timings from 8 AM to 5 PM CST
- Responsible for participating in the 24x7 shift schedule on call if needed
Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and work experience Technical certifications are desirable Mandatory Skills - Should have 5+ years of experience with SQL Server in a data warehouse environment and Microsoft BI stack
- Experience with complex T-SQL queries and performance optimization
- Experience in handling independently ETL failures, create root cause analysis, and adhere to data availability SLA
- Proactively work on reducing frequently occurring issues
- Automate manual work and minimize manual intervention
- Proactively monitor ETL finish time - handle surge in data volume, poor source data quality, server outages to maintain SLA
- Maintain process metrics and identify new metrics based on the business requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Experience in SQL Server job and process automation, management, and improvements
- Experience in SQL Server version 2012 - 2017
- Knowledge and experience with best practices and standards for TSQL and SDLC
- Development tools/applications (GitHub, TFS, Azure DevOps, RedGate tools, Visual Studio, etc.)
- Expertise in technical Azure platform
- Proficiency in Big Data Technologies such as:
- Azure Data bricks
- ADLS Gen2
- Azure Data factory
- Azure Synapse
- Understand technologies such as:
- Azure Site Recovery
- Express Route
- Azure VPN gateways
- Azure Backup
- Azure Network security
- Virtualization
- Azure Cost Management
- Understand scripting protocols such as PowerShell, Azure CLI's, ARM templates
- Understand other technologies such as:
- Azure Key Vault
- Replication Technologies (Qlik Replicate)
- BI Tools (PowerBI, MicroStrategy, Tableau)
- Experience in Healthcare/Medical/Insurance data
