Role: Sr. ADABAS DBA Location: Oaks, PA   Need candidate who can work onsite only Job Description   Candidate will be part of a team that manages and supports all Software AG’s ADABAS databases; provides primary support for database related issues; manages the ADABAS environment and provides support for various business and technology units. This candidate will work in a 24/7 highly available, on-call, large scale z/OS Mainframe environment.  Position Requirements A minimum of 8 years of experience in providing production ADABAS database support is required. The candidate should demonstrate a detailed knowledge of ADABAS database definitions, file structure, operational guidelines, replication strategies, performance and tuning , NATURAL, and PLOG recovery processes.    A Candidate will demonstrate the ability to install and configure ADABAS, Natural, and proprietary User exits in a large scale z/OS mainframe environment. A candidate must also be able to provide assistance with diagnostics and troubleshooting. A candidate will also have strong team focus, customer service, work ethic and excellent communication skills. Required Experiences and Skills Implement and Manage ADABAS and Natural related processes. Manage ADABAS Replication installation and support Work collaboratively with Service and Developmental teams to build and support ADABAS related processes. Review databases for performance and tuning bottlenecks, suggest and take appropriate corrective action to improve through put. Work with various internal teams around Software Releases, New products and ongoing testing. Manage ADABAS backup and recovery processes. Participate in Disaster Recovery planning, testing and execution. Implement and enforce database security related processes using SAF. Provide detailed root cause analysis, workarounds and/or permanent solutions for recurring issues. Provide support for all stages of database implementation and/or database related deployments. Maintain database architecture and strategies to ensure performance, availability, integrity and security of ADABAS databases. Monitor and improve database performance and capacity utilization to provide high database availability and redundancy. Install, configure, upgrade, and manage ADABAS databases. Participate in an on-call rotation as part of a leveraged team   Experience Minimum of 10 years related industry experience, financial services a plus Problem solving skills Project management experience  Organizational and analytical skills Customer service and client management experience Written and verbal communication skills appropriate for a professional work environment Ability to identify and resolve/escalate problems Ability to work independently and with others in an effective and professional manner Must be willing to work in an open environment
