Java Backend Developer
Location: Remote for now, Phoenix when offices open

Contract Length: Long term contract
Years Experience: 4+
REQUIRED:
- At least 4 years of software development experience in a professional environment and/or comparable experience such as:
- Proficiency in Java and / or Scala including the latest and advanced features
- Experience designing the local component architecture of a macro architecture
- Experience using streaming technologies such as Cloud Dataflow or Flink, preferred
- Experience building highly performant and efficient web APIs preferably using non-blocking frameworks such as Spring WebFlux
- Ability to setup Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines using Git and Jenkins
- Ability to containerize applications using Docker
- Experience deploying processing as cloud native solutions
- Expertise in implementing highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable solutions
- Ability to participate in the prevention, diagnosis, and resolution of system outages as an authority in the underlying solution
- Experience with data structure libraries
- Familiar with Agile or other rapid application development methods
- Strong focus on writing automated tests for your own code
- Ability to perform benchmarking and optimization
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related experience required; advanced degree preferred
Focus:
Design, develop, solve problems, debug, evaluate, modify, deploy, and document web API and real-time / stream processing software and systems that meet the needs of customer-facing applications, business applications, and/or internal end user applications.
Organizational Context:
A member of a product engineering team reporting to an Engineering Director.

- Create a real-time streaming and complex event processing platform
