Description:
UST Global(r) is looking for a highly energetic and collaborative Cognos & Tableau Developers with experience building enterprise Dashboard solutions. The Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and deploying dashboard solutions and reports business intelligence and performance management software, Cognos, participating in all phases of the development and maintenance life cycle in the Digital Technologies organization for a leading Retailer in the United States. The ideal candidate is expected to be experienced in the mobility space, specifically using traditional and new and emerging technologies. The candidate should have good experience leading large application teams. The candidate should be a proven self-starter with demonstrated ability to make decisions and accept responsibility and risk. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with domain experts and IT leadership team is key to be successful in this role.
Responsibilities:
As a Cognos + Tableau Developer, you will
* Involving in Sprint meetings, writing goals, stories on Agility board, cross team meetings and Scrum calls with different teams including development teams, QA teams, database teams, content writing teams and Business.
* Gathering requirements from business for new reports and enhancements on existing reports.
* Developed various types of reports like List Reports, Cross tab Reports, Chart Reports, Drill-Down, Drill-Through Reports, Master detail reports, Conditional Rendering, Conditional Formatting, Cascading, Workspace Dashboards, Dimensionally Modeled Relational Model (DMR) Reports, Relationally Modeled Relational Model (RMR) Reports Web Service reports, JavaScript, etc.
* Developed Cognos Framework Manager Models, published packages on content stores, elevating reports from/to Dev/Test/Prod regions.
* Developed reports with different datasources including databases, open deployable xml data sources and web services.
* Development and maintenance of Cognos Reports, fixing issues, testing and migrated to production.
* Developed reports for different target countries with open deployable legal disclaimers xmls.
* Developed Advanced Dashboards using advanced features available in Cognos Workspace 10.2.1 like tabbed-dashboards, Action Button Widget, Global Area, Freeze Column, Row Headings, Expand/Collapse Column/Row headings and Cognos Workspace Advanced for Accessing advanced functions.
* Cognos Event Studio's Scheduling including creating events, jobs, report views with different parameter settings and schedule different reports to run on different business days and send the same to business on mails.
* Developed complex reports with sql queries and stored procedures.
* Gave demos to business when developed new reports or adding enhancements to existing reports and demo to business for creating different report views with different parameters and scheduling the same on their own.
* Involved in synchronizing the Cognos reports and manual excel spreadsheet reports.
* Developed custom prompts using Java Script .
* Performing unit testing of the reports and peer review among team members.
* Developed reports based on Cognos Framework Manager metadata model's queries/stored procedures and by writing direct manual sql queries in reports.
* Prepared technical documents like providing business the capabilities of scheduling reports on their own.
* Developed data sources in Tableau.
* Developed Tableau visualizations and dashboards using Tableau Desktop and published the same on Tableau Server.
* Report Scheduling in Tableau server
* Develop and perform system testing and fix defects identified during testing and re-execute unit tests to validate results.
* Coach and mentor team members on Cognos & Tableau development best practices.
* Define and enforce application coding standards and best practices.
* Identify and resolve technical and process impediments preventing delivery teams from meeting delivery commitments.
* Align and collaborate with architects, other team leads, and IT leadership to develop technical architectural runways supporting upcoming features and capabilities.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot performance and other issues.
* Collaborate with peers, reviewing complex change and enhancement requests.
* Evaluate potential changes and enhancements for objectives, scope and impact.
* Take a proactive approach to development work, leading peers and partners to strategic technical solutions in a complex IT environment.
* Document functional/technical requirements and design based on requirements or objectives.
* Mentor peers on coding standards, patterns and strategy.
* Build and maintain active relationships with customers to determine business requirements.
* Partner with other IT teams during integration activities to facilitate successful implementations.
* Communicate effectively with technical peers in in a clear manner, while also being able to articulate complex solutions in ways nontechnical business partners can understand.
Requirements:
* BA/BS degree or technical institute training or equivalent work experience
* Strong effective communication skills, both written and verbal
* 3+ years of hands on Cognos & Tableau development experience
* 5+ years combined of hands on SQL & Web development experience
* Experience with Java Script is required.
* Experience with UI development is required.
* Experience consuming REST services and an understanding of Swagger specifications.
* Understanding of security concerns and mitigation strategies when development mobile applications.
* Experience with Java is an asset.
* Experience overseeing team members.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Experience in agile environment
* Great understanding with builds, software development and GIT.
  The most successful candidates will also have experience in the following:
* Gitflow
* Atlassian products - BitBucket, JIRA, Confluence etc.
* Continuous Integration tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, or TFS
Location: This position will be based in Bentonville, AR
