Please find the below requirement details

 

Position: Unix Admin

Location: Hicksville, NY

Duration:  3-6 Months

Rate: $35-38/Hr. on C2C

Shift: M-F 2nd shift. (Make your own hours starting after 6pm EST)

 

Job Description: 

Advanced knowledge of Data Center operations, including "racking and Stacking" of server hardware and network/SAN cabling

Advanced knowledge of Solaris and SUN hardware

Proficiency with hardware configuration, software installation and configuration

Must be able to handle packages and systems that weigh 50-75 lbs without assistance.

Working hours in 11:00 PM – 8:00 AM EST

Install server hardware, troubleshoot and replace defective hardware in four Master Headends.

Install Ethernet and fiber cables for network and storage access.  Troubleshoot issues with network or SAN across cabling.

Test Linux hardware and software to verify conformance to the configuration design

Design, manage, maintain, and document both internal and customer Linux environments.

Resolve performance, security and reliability issues with production Unix environments

Provide third-level client support.

Manage the production problems, root cause analysis/resolution for system issues, defects and enhancements.

Maintain the health of systems by identifying and applying patches and firmware upgrades.
