Position: IOS developer
Location: Remote
Duration: 6+ Months
Rate: $65/Hr. on C2C
IOS
Must-Haves (Concepts & Tools):
· Swift
· JSON
· Unit Testing (any framework)
· CI/CD (Git / Jenkins / Soft lab – don't need these specific tools, but they would be really nice)
· Accessibility / Performance experience
Nice-to-Haves (Concepts & Tools):
· React Native (there are 2 apps, 1 is Native the other is Hybrid with native components)
o Typescript
· Viper
Please use the below questionnaire to help screen your candidate
iOS
· Pick the last project on their resume: "I see your last project with XYZ, can you talk to me about the scope of the work and the product being delivered?
o Was this is Hybrid or Native Application? (Native = built specifically for one device, Hybrid = being built on a platform to run on any device i.e. ios, Android or Windows)
o Was this a greenfield project or were you adding enhancements / features?
o What was the development methodology?
· How large was the team you were working with and what was the breakdown? (most Scrum teams are 7 +- 2)
o What would you say were your biggest contributions to the project / what were you responsibilities for?
o Were you responsible for any of the design aspects? Who made those decisions?
· Can you explain to me the tech stack you were using?
o IF Hybrid, look / listen for these:
· HTML / Cordova, C# / Xamarin, JavaScript / React Native, Dart (iOS) / Flutter (Android), Phone Gap, etc
o IF Native, look / listen for these:
· Swift or Objective-C programming language (Swift is the most modern…)
o MORE Native questions:
· Were there any other technologies or libraries that you used? (look for XCode, UIKit, SwiftUI etc. based on your requirements)
· Were there any core technologies you had to develop? (look forOpenGL, Location and Sensor APIs, Media and Camera APIs, Data Storage APIs)
· Do you test your own applications or did you have a QA team? What software/tools did you leverage? (look for Perfecto, Apptim, Appium, Calabash, Robotium etc.)
· What issues came up and how did you solve them?
o How do you / the team focus on areas like Performance, Security & Accessibility?
· Was the app deployed to an Enterprise or through the App store?
o Any lessons learned through trying to keep the site highly-available?
· How have you been staying current and growing your skills from project to project?
· What new technologies/languages have you learned or expanded your knowledge on throughout your career?
o What to look for: Have them tell a story! How are they communicating with you? What growth are they seeing internally that makes them a fit?
