Job Description
A member of the Digital Experience Solutions team, you will work in an Agile product development environment, collaborating with product owners, scrum masters, UI developers, analysts, content strategists, and business stakeholders to connect our work with the audiences we serve, via research, usability testing and design thinking practices. As a dedicated user advocate, you will proactively partner with product owners to diagnose, prioritize, and solve experience challenges through personas, journey maps, information architecture diagrams, wireframes, prototypes and other user-centered conversation starters. You will lead iterative user research, usability testing and analytics monitoring to identifying opportunities for experience improvements and validate value delivery. You will nurture and promote the user experience and interaction design practices within scrum teams and across our digital platforms.

You will contribute to continual development and improvement of our enterprise digital design system including Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Content Management System templates, components, interfaces, and/or pages for the organization with keen attention to digital branding considerations and consistent user messaging.

Essential Job Functions
- Apply business discovery, user research, and competitive analysis to devise digital experience strategies that bridge business goals and user needs.
- Partner with UX content strategists, UX designers and UI developers to express the user experience as wireframes, journey maps, prototypes, and other illustrations to support collaborative creation of the intended user experience and validate design solutions.
- Share in the facilitation of design thinking workshops and co-design sessions to build audience empathy, understand business objectives, identify user needs, and collaboratively ideate digital solutions and features.
- Plan and facilitate design research, including user testing, A/B/n testing, and data analysis from web analytics (example: Adobe Analytics).
- Understand and articulate user motivations, business objectives, market opportunities and competitive landscape.
- Coordinate with product owners to ensure we are continually delivering strategic value outlined within product roadmaps, working with team members across disciplines to ensure that everyone has a clear picture of the product experience vision and is meeting both business and user objectives.
- Consults with design, engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure digital properties are inclusive, accessible (Section 508 compliant) and high performing.
- Communicate often and build strong working relationships with teammates across Digital Experience Solutions, IT, Marketing, Donor Experience, Fundraising business partners and elsewhere throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Minimum (3) three years relevant work experience preferably on large, complex web sites, applications or equivalent, including experience in the role of user experience designer, information architect, product designer, usability analyst or user researcher
- Experience working on an enterprise Agile scrum team
- Experience conducting audience research including activities such as surveys, usability testing, contextual observation and field research
- Knowledge of user interface design processes and methodologies, user-centered design principles and practices
- Experience with mockup and prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, InVision Studio, Axure, Balsamiq or Sketch
- Strong conceptual and strategic thinking skills
- Understanding of Internet software engineering principles and techniques; familiarity with HTML authoring and web infrastructure
- Ability to interact well with team members and business stakeholders; excellent project management skills and strong written and verbal communications skills
- Bachelor's degree in human-computer interaction, computer science, cognitive psychology, anthropology, sociology, library science, industrial design, user experience design, graphic design or equivalent experience in related field required
