Title: Backend Java Developer

Duration: 6+ months

Location: Remote to Onsite in Eden Prairie, MN

Pay Rate: Max $50

Client: UHG

 

 

MUST:

 

1.       6-8 years of experience in Java. 

2.       Java 1.7 and 1.8. 

3.       Azure Cloud – Must Have. 

4.       Spring Boot to create microservices. 

5.       Kafka (Required) – Producer and Consumer 

 

Job Description:

 

Marketing Application built on Unica (Marketing System). Core engine is sitting in the marketing product. Multiple up and down stream systems are integrated. Changes in system effects both upstream and downstream systems. There are roughly 15-20 integration points. Those integrations points are created using Java API Web Services. Team is integrating these API's to other mobile apps (customer facing applications). A few of those points are very old and built in SOAP. They need to be upgraded and recreated in REST. Other new projects would also require the creation of new Restful API's. In addition, the team is in the process of migrating from VM to Azure Cloud. Using design patterns for restful api's. Primarily pulling from Oracle and moving to Microsoft SQL Azure. Need good exposure to database.  

 

  

No javascript or UI work. 

  

No dedicated DBA – Need good SQL skills. Basic joins, performance tuning, queries). 

  

High level: Marketing application build on marketing product for Unica campaign 

·         Code sitting in marketing project 

·         Upstream and downstream systems 

·         Inbound and outbound data integration points 

o   Integrations are being done using Java API"s and WebServices 

o   Have a couple API's built in soap and the rest are in Restful APi's 

o   New API's they are expecting and will be built in Restful 

·         Need Cloud, 

·         Migrating to cloud 

o   Looking for Spring boot framework 

·         High-level API's 

·         This is a marketing platform, where a lot of analytics go. 

·         Marketing API's being integrated with customer facing portals or mobile apps. 

Day to Day: 

·         Design pattern or restful API;s and 

·         Currently using Oracle/DB2 family 

o   Planning to migrate to SQL AZURE 

o   Need strong database exposure 

·         Will be doing some test automation as well (10-20%) 

·         Currently using Kafka, don't need an expert but 

  

Tools: 

·         Java 7 and 1.8 

·         No UI Work
