They will be working on multiple projects. Someone that can blend and work with lots of different projects. First project is oracle replacement. Will be involved in setting up ORACLE RAC, improving automation, moving data via data guard. Not looking for someone that has 25 years of experience doing the same thing. Open to remote. Prefers someone that can relocate at some point. Open to 6 month contract to hire.
1) Top 3 requirements?
1. • Senior Level Oracle DBA – Production DBA
2. • Heavy Emphasis on automation
3. • Scripting 90% of what they do with Shell and python - Not picky on language of scripts.
4. Golden Gate or Datagaurd
2) Nice to have
1. HVR instead of Striim. (either I think is nice to have)
2. • Stored Procedure development
3. • Golden Gate
4. • Cloud - moving from on-prem to cloud gcp, aws, azure
5. • ETL - TALEND
6. Chef / ansible
ADDITIONAL:
Focus on Infrastructure as service and blending databases into same approach. Will be fulltime resource, versatile player who can blend into team and pick up various projects.
Current = storage replacement, oracle, installing CRMs, figuring out how oracle needs to be done
- Must understand PL SQL but have people on team to do that.
- Need someone who can dig in and ask questions
- Also want to understand person’s interests, passions, where they see themselves in a few years.
- A couple resumes from HR but all remote. 2 interviews.
