This is Khatib Rahman from VBeyond Corp. We are a global recruitment company with specialization in of hiring of IT professionals. One of our clients is looking for a Scala Consultant at NYC, NY.  Position brief:   Title: Scala Consultant Location: NYC , NY (Remote till Covid19) Type: Contract Job Description: Key responsibilities: 1.           Review, design and end-to-end onboarding of use cases on Apache SOLR/Lucidworks Fusion platform. (SOLR/Fusion/Hadoop Ecosystem) 2.           Code robust, generic and re-usable components for Fusion service framework. 3.           Assist existing and new applications to come up with most optimized and suitable solutions for their requirements. 4.           L3 point of contact for issues related to search platform 5.           Performance tuning and capacity management. 6.           New technology POC and suitability analysis for Enterprise Search and Analytics. 7.           Process optimization with the help of automation and new utility development 8.           Work in collaboration with Vendors like Lucidworks for SOLR related activity. 9.           Performance ewview of SOLR changes going into PROD to ensure SLA adherence and capacity. 10.         Plan and execute system upgrade and enhacements. Skill Set: 1.           Expert in distributed indexing and search engine preferably Apache SOLR. 2.           Strong Architecture design skills. 3.           Should have strong hands on exp on performance tuning concepts for dist environments. 4.           Familiar with basic dist systems concept. 5.           Good unix knowledge Good Analytial ability 6.           Strong collaboration and communication skills. 7.           Must possess strong leadership skills and should have excellent written and verbal communication skills. 8.           Ability to execute and prioritize tasks and resolve issues without aid from direct manager or project sponsor.
