Title: LIMS Project Manager
Location: Princeton, NJ
Project Duration: To the End of 2020, with a possible Extension.
Note: To work initially on Lab and Pathology enhancements, in addition to adding BioAnalytics to the LIMS environment.
- 10 years - IT Project Management with 5-7 years in diverse roles with increasing leadership responsibilities across major projects and programs
- Substantial consulting leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience in managing "upward” among senior leadership
- Demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams business stakeholders across multiple time zones. Work toward harmonizing processes across the business stakeholders, work from a Global Governance and bring significant Change Management capability to the organization
- LIMS Experience Required
The projects include:
- Pathology systems (Halo / Imaging Database) and Lab equipment
- Application installs to AWS hosted environment. (Re-examining storage & performance of certain LIMS pieces and need to pull the right resources across IT and vendors and ensure timely delivery for updating configuration integration points.)
- Integration to an analytics platform database
- CRM System
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- LIMS experience (3 to 5 years). LabVantage LIMS preferred
- GxP experience/knowledge
- AWS/Cloud experience/knowledge
- Database Integration experience.
- Experience integrating with Cloud Solutions.
- Is able to be an "enforcer” when needed (e.g., AWS vendor, LabVantage vendor, stakeholders) to hold people accountable
- Agile experience
- A "hands-on” PM – project plan, vendor management, direct and assist other team members (e.g., QA, Validation, etc.). Lead scrum meetings with a focus on action items and follow up.
- Interpersonal skills: good listener, does not talk over people, effective liaison to governance board
Primary Responsibilities and Activities (Project Manager)
- Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones and required activities and tasks.
- Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle and confer with project staff to outline work plan.
- Establish work plan and staffing for project activities, iterations or phases, and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
- Review project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements and allotment of available departmental resources to various project phases.
- Analyze project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations and appropriate process for accomplishing projects.
- Review/approve work plan of external service provider or consultancy contracted to execute project.
- Implement project communication plan.
- Conduct risk assessment and mitigation.
- Monitor project activities, ensuring the currency, quality and integrity of the information, while providing consistency in content and "look and feel " across the enterprise.
- Ensure that project goals are accomplished and in line with business objectives.
- Assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority to project personnel.
- Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
- Review status reports prepared by project personnel, and modify schedules or plans as required.
- Establish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
- Continuously benchmark project management performance to identify improvements and achieve higher capability maturity in PPM.
